Upstate Art Weekend Kick Off at Olana
Kick off Upstate Art Weekend’s seventh edition at Olana State Historic Site, in partnership with Bloomberg Connects and The Olana Partnership. Join a toast in the Frederic Church Center for Art and Landscape followed by a conversation with local artists on the occasion of the artist Frederic Church’s 200th birthday year. This dialogue will be moderated by UAW founder, Helen Toomer.
Member Event | Ridge Road Walk with Author Annik LaFarge
Join Annik LaFarge, author of "Composing Olana," for an exclusive guided tour along Olana’s Ridge Road. Walk with Annik as she excavates the rich stories found in Olana’s landscape and views, from the political maneuvering between the Mohicans and Dutch settlers in the 17th century to the work of 20th environmental activists to preserve the health and beauty of the Hudson Valley.

Join us on Sunday, July 12 at 11am for this exclusive curator-led tour for OLANA members of "Your Friend, Frederic E. Church at the Albany Institute of History and Art."

Enjoy summer scenery at Olana with singer-songwriter Mario Rincon’s bilingual blend of flamenco cante, Latin-American folklore, and classic Americana.

Artmaking in the Afternoon
Participate in free, drop-in artmaking in the Wagon House Education Center from 1-4 PM and learn more about Frederic Church’s artist-designed home and studio on the Hudson. Join The Olana Partnership, Story Screen, and Hudson Area Library at Olana State Historic Site for a special screening of the 2003 classic, Holes. This fantasy-adventure film is based on the 1998 novel, fun for the whole family, and perfect for a movie night under the stars!
