This guided driving tour, along Frederic Church’s designed carriage roads, provides the most comprehensive exploration of Olana as a 250-acre masterwork of American landscape design. Experience river and mountain views and enjoy sweeping vistas of the Church’s designed farm and park. End your journey along the original historic approach road, taking in the exterior architecture of the Historic House just as guests of Frederic Church once did. Limit 5 passengers per vehicle.

$40 | Ages 8 and up only

This 45-minute guided tour provides an introduction to Frederic Church’s home at Olana. Approach and enter the Historic House as guests of the Church family did, experiencing sweeping views of the Hudson Valley and Catskill Mountains. Explore the art-filled, lavishly decorated public rooms of the first floor, including Church’s painting studio and learn about the work and life of America’s preeminent landscape artist. This tour is fully ADA accessible. For a complete Olana experience, pair this tour with a guided walking tour of the artist-designed landscape at Olana. $20 | Free for Artist’s Circle Members+

This winter, heighten your powers of observation and join a series of special ‘close looking’ conversations. During 45-minute guided dialogues, learn more about two to three works of art from Olana’s collection through visual analysis, personal reflection, and historical information. Discover how slowing down and focusing attention can foster deep connections with works of art, artists, and ourselves. New works of art will be featured each month; no prior knowledge of art is required. Visit OLANA.org/acloserlook for the full schedule. Second-floor galleries require several flights of stairs and are not ADA accessible. Seating will be provided.

$10 | Free for Artist’s Circle Members+

Discover the treasures of Olana’s Historic House interior at your own pace. This self-guided tour allows visitors full access to all the public rooms on the first and second floors of the Main House. A knowledgeable interpreter will be available in each room. Your timed ticket includes a guided walk to the Main House followed by self-guided exploration of the interior. Start time is listed on your ticket. The last ticketed entry is 3:15 pm and the house closes promptly at 4:00 pm. Read More

Offered December 26. Gather with family and friends and enjoy a stroll through the historic house at Olana. Discover the treasures of several of the interior rooms while taking in the view of Olana’s historic designed landscape.

$18 | Free for Artist’s Circle Members+

All private tours begin in the historic landscape and continue into the Main House to experience the historic interiors. These custom tours are led by knowledgeable staff members of The Olana Partnership and will operate outside of regular public touring hours. Private tours are available on weekdays only for up to 5 people. Requests for private tours should be made a minimum of a week in advance. Monday-Friday: Free for members of The Olana Partnership at the Crown Hill Circle level ($600) and above.
