THE OLANA SUMMER PARTY RIP VAN WINKLE

A 19th century fable,

A 20th century bridge over the Hudson River,

A 21st century vision to reunite Thomas Cole and Frederic Church….

SATURDAY, JULY 20, 2019

Supporter Reception: 4:00 — 5:00 pm
Main Cocktail Event: 5:00 — 7:00 pm

This year’s cocktail party features top regional chefs who will create hors d’oeuvres inspired by this year’s theme, paired with wine, craft beers and signature cocktails. Our celebration will be along Olana’s Ridge Road, with spectacular views of the Hudson River, the Rip Van Winkle Bridge, and the fabled Catskill Mountains.

Higher-level supporters are also invited to a private reading of Rip Van Winkle by David Rockefeller Jr. on Saturday, September 21, 3:00 PM at Four Winds, Livingston, NY.

We have had an overwhelming response to this year’s event and have created a waiting list for interested ticket-buyers. If you would like to join our waiting list, please contact Mabel Bermejo at (518) 751-6901.

Sheila Bridges

Interior Designer Sheila Bridges is inspiring the decor of the Main Cocktail Event with her iconic Hudson Valley toile.

“It has been more than twenty-five years since I was first introduced to New York’s Hudson River Valley. I became a homeowner there after being seduced by its natural beauty, architectural vernacular and spectacular landscapes. I designed Hudson Valley Toile for reasons not dissimilar to those that inspired my Harlem Toile De Jouy: as a way of sharing personal stories and visual tropes, poking fun but also raising questions. Each of the vignettes in my original wallpaper, which is hand-printed in the Hudson Valley, lampoons one of the positively quirky, sometimes challenging, yet ever-changing points of view deeply woven into the curious culture and beautiful backdrop that has shaped my experience in the historic Hudson Valley.”
