Member Event | “Gilded Butterflies”: Natural History Inside Olana’s Historic House
Back by popular demand! Influenced by the work of 19th-century naturalists and their own extensive travels, Frederic and Isabel Church were enthusiastic collectors of animal and plant specimens that showcased the genius and beauty of the natural world.
Join us for this exclusive member-only tour, led by The Olana Partnership’s Research Archivist Clare Flemming, that will highlight the Churches’ natural-history specimens found within Olana’s Historic House.
Clare Flemming is the Research Archivist for The Olana Partnership where she supports internal and external research through resources at Olana, and in collaboration with colleagues at New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. Clare holds masters degrees in Archives Management and Photographic Preservation and Collections Management. Though Clare loves all animals, she is decidedly a “mammal person” and a wannabe entomologist.
This is an exclusive OLANA members event. Space is limited to the member and a guest.
Please RSVP by emailing Hannah Diamond at hdiamond@olana.org or call 518-751-6857.
