WHO: Kindergarten through Grade 12
WHAT: Field trips linked to the NY State Common Core Curriculum & NYS Learning Standards linked; programs focus on authentic learning experiences and inquiry based conversations
WHEN: Available Tuesday through Friday throughout the school year
HOW MUCH: No cost for schools in Columbia/Greene County. $5/student for schools outside of Columbia/Greene. Additional funding may be available. Please email education@olana.org if you are interested learning more.
HOW TO BOOK: Please email education@olana.org to book a program and date for your group. No inquiry is considered binding until registration details are received by Olana.
RECOMMENDED LENGTH: Virtual tours are designed to be 1 hour in length.
MAX & MIN GROUP SIZE: Tours serve a maximum of 30 students.
ASSESSMENT: Students will be asked to observe and analyze images as primary sources, citing specific evidence to articulate reasoning behind their ideas. Questions will be employed to encourage students to analyze how history and artistic ideas interact. Each lesson will incorporate activities designed to challenge students to develop divergent solutions and outcomes.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Please notify Olana’s Education Department (education@olana.org) of any changes to your scheduled virtual field trip at least one week before the scheduled visit. We will reschedule your virtual tour to a future date if possible.

Live Virtual Tour
For K-12
Explore Olana in or outside the classroom with live, digital instruction. This virtual tour will introduce your students to Frederic Church and Olana from a distance. Each tour includes exploration of photos, videos, and artworks; live instruction via inquiry-based conversations; and age-appropriate activities. Virtual tours can be tailored to meet specific curriculum goals and classroom needs. All virtual tours are offered via Google Meet or Zoom and can be adapted to other platforms upon request.

Careers in the Arts & Culture
For 7-12
Explore Olana while learning more about careers in the arts and culture. During this virtual tour, students will be invited to meet virtually with Olana staff members to discuss their career path and current role at Olana. Each tour includes a brief introduction to Olana through photos and inquiry-based conversations with a staff member. All virtual tours are offered via Google Meet or Zoom and can be adapted to other platforms upon request.
