Private Specialty Tours: Senior Staff-led Landscape and Historic Interiors Tour (2 hours)
This exclusive touring experience is led by the Olana Partnership’s senior, executive, and curatorial staff. An immersive exploration of Frederic Church’s Olana, this tour also provides a first-hand perspective on the site’s operation and planning. Begin with a guided walk of Ridge Road, taking in some of Olana’s most dramatic views. Learn the story of their creation, preservation, and the significant role Olana has played in landmark conservation decisions. Next, explore the rich collections of the Main House, including public rooms, private quarters, and the Sharp Family Gallery (during exhibition season). Examine the domestic, aesthetic and historical motivations behind the architecture and interior design of the Churches’ home, Frederic’s development as an artist, and Olana’s journey to becoming a historic site that welcomes visitors from around the world.
