DESCRIPTION:Join us on Sunday, July 12 at 11am for this exclusive curator-led tour for OLANA members of Your Friend, Frederic E. Church at the Albany Institute of History and Art.\n“About an hour this side of Albany is the center of the World – I own it,” wrote Frederic E. Church to “My dear Palmer” in an 1869 letter, now housed in the Albany Institute of History & Art’s collection. Part of this year’s Frederic Church 200 celebration, Your Friend, Frederic E. Church explores the artist’s 50-year friendship with Albany sculptor Erastus Dow Palmer through their correspondence, artworks, and shared creative lives. Featuring letters, sculptures, paintings, drawings, and significant loans—including materials from Olana and rarely seen private collections—this exhibition highlights the artists’ mutual influence and personal bond.\nThis tour will meet at the Albany Institute of History and Art at 125 Washington Avenue, Albany, NY 12210. Following the curator tour, OLANA members are welcome to self-guide through the Institute.\nThis is an exclusive OLANA members event.
