VISIT: Seasons, Hours and Fees
Olana offers programs and tours throughout the year. The surrounding grounds, with an extensive system of carriage drives, are open year round for hiking, cross country skiing, picnicking and other outdoor activities.
April - October
There is a $5 cash vehicle fee on weekends and holidays, April - October; ticket may be turned for a credit toward house tour.
House Tours
House tours at Olana introduce visitors to the story of Frederic Church and the development of Olana. The paintings and collections in the richly decorated, Eastern-inspired home illustrate the story of Olana's creation and its importance to Church and his family as a place of refuge and inspiration. See Olana's calendar of events for themed tours, such as 'Lincoln, Church & the U.S. Civil War,' available on the 4th of July and throughout Presidents' Day Weekend, or 'April Fools Olana!' in April.
House Tour Schedule:
Tuesday through Sunday and holiday Mondays, April through October, 10AM-5PM; the last tour starts promptly at 4PM. The house is only available by guided tour. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 518-828-0135.
The Evelyn and Maurice Sharp Gallery
Tours of the servants' quarters and Evelyn & Maurice Sharp Gallery at Olana lead visitors through the servants' entrance and portions of the unrestored servants' quarters. Interpretive panels encourage visitors to envision a servants' wing alive with the bustle of activity required to maintain the Church family's lifestyle. Leaving the servants' wing, visitors enter the Stair Hall Landing located directly above Olana's iconic Court Hall. From the landing, visitors can look into Frederic and Isabel Church's bedroom suite. Finally, visitors enter the Evelyn & Maurice Sharp Gallery. Second Floor and Gallery Schedule:
Thursday through Sunday,through October 31, 11AM-4PM.
This years exhibit is entitled Fern Hunting among These Picturesque Mountains: Frederic Edwin Church in Jamaica.
The Coachman's House
Open daily, except Monday 10AM-5PM
This years exhibit will display, In the Footsteps of Frederic Church: Contemporary photography by Lawrence Lederman.

On weekends and holiday Mondays, through October 31, there is a $5 entry fee per vehicle from 10AM-5PM; (Vehicle entry fee is waived for current members of The Olana Partnership, see below) This fee can be credited toward a house tour as long as house tour tickets are available.
Group tours of 12 or more must make a reservation in advance.
