OLANA VISITOR ALERT- Roeliff Jansen Kill Bridge is CLOSED between Germantown and Hudson (This will only impact visitors traveling to Olana northbound on Rte 9G.)
The Department of Transportation (DOT) reported that beginning April 19, State Route 9G over the Roeliff Jansen Kill Bridge between Germantown and Livingston will be closed between Block Factory Road and county Route 10. If coming from the Rip Van Winkle Bridge or points north take Route 9G south, Olana is not affected by the closure. From points south, and traveling north on 9G, at the light in Germantown turn right on Rte 8; go .8 miles and then turn left on Hover Ave for 1.0 miles; than turn right on Dales Bridge for 1.6 miles; than turn Left on Wire Road for 1.3 miles; than Left on Rte 10 for .6 miles; than right on 9G for 2.4 miles to Olana entrance on your right.

Getting to Olana State Historic Site is easy. To travel by train, take Amtrak to Hudson, NY, then take a short taxi ride to Olana. Drivers will find the entrance on Route 9G, just one half mile south of the Rip Van Winkle Bridge.

Take NYS Thruway (I-87) to Exit 21/Catskill. Follow signs for Route 23 East and Hudson. Cross Rip Van Winkle Bridge and bear right onto Route 9G South. Olana is on left one mile south of Rip Van Winkle Bridge.
Or, take Route 9 North through Rhinebeck. Take a left at light onto Route 9G North. Its approximately 20 miles to Olana, entrance on right. If you reach the intersection for Rip Van Winkle Bridge, you have gone too far.
Or, take Taconic State Parkway North to Hudson Exit (Route 82 North). Follow Route 82 North, which turns into Route 23 at the intersection with Route 9. Continue on Route 23 West, bear left onto Route 9G South. Do not cross bridge. Olana is one mile south of Rip Van Winkle Bridge on left.
